These Terms govern your use of Crux Chess Puzzles ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms.

2. Ads & the "Remove Ads" subscription

• The app is free and supported by ads.
• You may optionally purchase a "Remove Ads" subscription, which removes interstitial ads while active.
• The subscription is sold and billed through Google Play and auto-renews until cancelled. You can view, manage, or cancel it in your Google Play account. Billing, renewals, and refunds are handled by Google Play and governed by Google's terms; we do not process payments. Refunds are provided only where required by law or Google Play policy.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to cheat, exploit, reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app or its systems, or to use it in any unlawful way.

4. Intellectual property & attributions

The app and its original content are owned by the developer. Chess puzzle data is derived from the Lichess puzzle database (CC0). Some chess piece artwork is provided by third parties under their own open-source licenses. Attributions and license details are listed in the app under Settings → Credits & Licenses.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

7. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms; changes take effect when posted here.
